Most software upgrades don't even require an outage, and for carrier-class mission-critical environments, OmniCenter is available in a redundant high-availability configuration, allowing instant failover in the event of a catastrophe, and seamless upgrades without affecting monitoring, reporting, or alarming.
Network engineers designed the OmniCenter product, so it naturally includes an engineering ‘tool box’ to assist in troubleshooting network issues. It includes a configuration auditing and management tool for network devices that gives you instant visibility to changes in network device configurations, the ability to push commands or configurations to devices on-demand or on a schedule, and can send an alarm or page to an administrator automatically, whenever a configuration is changed.
OmniCenter is specifically designed to be easy to administer. All administration functions are performed via a simple web interface, allowing multiple users to administer the tool simultaneously, without having to install special client software, or use Remote Desktop Clients to take over the server directly. Changes can be made to a single device, or using the ‘global device changes’ tool, to any group of devices, or all of them, all at once. This simplifies large-scale administrative changes. All of this flexibility still allows for simplicity through the use of comprehensive and intelligent default settings, allowing you to use the tool productively with a minimum of configuration.
Additionally, Netreo provides "managed software services" that allow you to get out of the business of maintaining the network management platform entirely. Netreo can perform routine maintenance, software upgrades, and security patch installation remotely over a secure VPN connection, freeing your staff from these duties completely.
