An Insight into the Azure Site Recovery

You might have heard about the recovery tools but hardly would’ve come across any Microsoft based recovery tool. Microsoft has recently unveiled its disaster recovery service by the name or Azure Service Recovery which is capable enough to replicate your on-premises apps on Azure. This tool also makes sure that the application meets all the compliance needs.

Before the latest release, the developers had to go through a difficult process to configure the disaster recovery but now that it has been added in Azure, users can enjoy a free 31-day trial of this amazing recovery tool. There are three basic steps which we are going to discuss here in this blog.

The very first step is to set up your local infrastructure. You should figure out the platform you are going to use and after that, we advise you to set up the Azure Site Recovery components for the on-premises application which will replicate your app totally. The next step is that you should replicate the part of the application which will be a guided process throughout, right from the start. You will be asked to select the files to copy plus the target location as where do you want to save them. Each and everything you will be replicating would eventually land in Azure. The very last step requires the user to store the recovery plan you made. There is an option which allows you to customize your recovery and have it tested just in case any failure takes place. By customizing, we mean that if there is any sequencing involved in multi-tier apps which run on multiple virtual machines. With the Azure Site Recovery, the developers can automate some most important and recurring post-failover steps.
