In order to compensate for the limitations of Microsoft Azure, one of its offshoots has been introduced by Microsoft recently. The Azure Stack is actually an extension of the Azure which enables the developers to run the Azure services in the developer’s on-premises environment. Apart from this, the developers have access to the latest native Azure toolsets along with the APIs as well.
Since, we are ensuring the developers that they can run their on-premises tasks using all the toolsets of Azure, and can control the tasks via Cloud SLAs, it’s imperative for us to mention that we’ve been in touch with dozens of developers who have pointed us to the following tasks and have termed these tasks as the most complicated, complex and time-consuming. In this read, these points will be the subject of our discussion.

- Capacity Management:
While running the Azure services via Azure Stack, it is one of the most important tasks to ensure the capacity of infrastructure. It must be configured properly according to the demands of available cloud capacity.
- Checking & Maintenance of Health:
All the tasks which constitute a successful process cycle, leading from monitoring to security checks and business continuity to risk mitigation, should be handled in an apt manner and the solutions to the problems should be applicable and should focus on service delivery.
- Diagnostics and Monitoring:
Continuous monitoring, prompt notifications, and managing capabilities allow the developers to manage the health of infrastructure. Also the performance and the capacity which underlies the tenant workloads.
- Updates and Patching:
Azure Stack lets you update the entire infrastructure software with much ease. All the updates with Azure Stack are carried out via a proper SDLC process which aims to minimize the impact of any damage if occur on the way.
- Business Continuity:
The Azure’s Back-up and Site Recovery services let the developers reinstate the latest state of the infrastructure after any threat has been eliminated. It takes care of the business continuity and the tenant-driven protection adds a lot more to the entire business logic.
- Hardware LC Management & Intuitive Experiences:
The validated workflows enabled in the Azure Stack are capable enough to report any failed component which needs to be replaced. Apart from this, a web portal paired up with a command line interface (CLI), has been made a part of Azure Stack which lets you perform your basic underlying tasks which are expected from a developer working in Microsoft Azure environment.
Final Word:
Working in Azure Stacks environment is pretty different than the traditional Microsoft Azure’s environment. The approach of performing several tasks might look a bit difficult but it’d be to provide optimal services to the developers’ community.
